Hi. Many years ago two skydivers set out to break two records, one for the longest free fall and one for the longest parachute decent. They jumped from a balloon. The heater in the suit of the longest parachute decent jumper failed and he froze to death. The other pulled at about 10,000 feet. I don’t know if the death nullified to record. They started at something like 100,000 feet.

Looking for beginner snow play and/or skiing lessons for a 5 year old (and a 2 year old) in California. I myself don’t ski but some fun and lessons would be great.

uuumm… i was 2 when i started at Alpine, in Truckee and then skied at squaw ever since. um squaw has little kids lessons at the Squaw Kids program. alpine is a smaller resort though.

Actually i am new in this filed, i am selling masks and fins,etc.but now, i got customers asking gears for freediving and sparefishing. because of lack of experience of diving ,then, i am a little confused.

not sure about skin diving, but scuba diving uses an oxygen tank, and I’m pretty sure snorkeling just uses an air tube from close to the surface.

Scuba diving is something I have wanted to learn for a long time. I’d really like for a friend to take lessons with me, but my friends are either too busy or not interested in learning to dive. So I’d be starting totally on my own, not knowing any other divers. Can you give me some tips on getting started and meeting others to dive with?

You are in the same situation that I was years ago.
First, find a dive shop in your area. If there are multiple shops, do any of them have a dive club?
Second, take the basic open water course from that dive shop. Try to sign up for a group class. Do your certification dives locally (instead of internationally). Get the names of the people in your certification class. You’ll probably find a lot of people that will be interested in diving, but are lacking a dive buddy just like you.
Hopefully, there is some where local that a lot of diver will go to train. It may not be the best diving environment, but it allows you to dive.
If you like that dive shop, take some trips with them.
