Q&A: Is it ok to use a rock climbing helmet for snow skiing and snowboarding?

Climbing helmets lack several useful features, such as:
* not designed to be used with goggles
* generally don´t cover the ears (for warmth)
* don´t cover the back of the head as fully
* no adjustable ventilation

A climbing helmet is designed to protect you from falling pebbles… not the kind of thing you wear a helmet for on the slopes.

Where can one go snowboarding, snow skiing, snow tubing in Britain?

Question by Eric S: Where can one go snowboarding, snow skiing, snow tubing in Britain?
I wouldn’t think the UK gets much snow except for maybe the highlands in Scotland, or are there places where you would have winter snow resorts in England?

My guess would be for expert winter athletes, they go over to Europe and ski in the Alps. But about in the UK?
looking at British ski club sites, it shows Swiss ski resorts… are there any in Britain?

Avimore in Scotland would be the main “ski resort” http://ski.visitscotland.com/

There are none in Northern Ireland, England or Wales, simply not enough snow. There are some dry ski slopes indoors to practice on.
